Gift Wrap Recycle

It’s about that time: to open up your favorite Pandora Christmas station and start wrapping those gifts!

Of course, it bears remembering that most laminated, shiny gift wrapping paper is not recyclable.

So what can you do if you want to provide earth-friendly gift wrapping both inside and out?

Here are a few ideas.

  1. Use newsprint, or old magazines to create a retro-looking gift wrap. Tie it up with a satin bow that can be reused or re-gifted.
  2. Fabric gift wrap is available online from many earth-conscious retailers — or you can choose to give your gift in a reusable book bag or grocery bag.
  3. Scarves work beautifully for delicate and feminine gifts.
  4. Is your gift kitchen related? Consider using a tea towel to wrap it in.
  5. Still want that traditional look? www.wrappily.com creates low waste, recyclable paper.
  6. Lastly, for the inside: instead of tissue paper, try filling your box/bag with shredded paper.

Of course, the most important part of Christmas is sharing love—that is always the best gift to wrap and re-gift!
